Department of English

English is a global language. The effective communication skill in English, therefore, becomes mandatory. The Department of English has highly qualified staff members who have both fluency and accuracy in English communication. The faculty members have qualified themselves in English Language and Literature from the well reputed institutions all over India. The department has been provided with a language lab with a good learning atmosphere. The students are trained in speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. The department also offers courses for B.E. and B.Tech. students like, 'Communicative English' and 'Technical English' for the first year students, 'Interpersonal Skills/ Listening and Speaking' in the second year and 'Professional Communication' to the third year students as cited in the curriculum of Anna University. In addition to the regular courses, the department also enhances the communication skill and creativity of the students by organizing "English Literacy Club". Students are also motivated to participate in the events conducted in other colleges.
