PrincipalDr.M.Santhi
Dr. M. Santhi, Principal of Solamalai College of Engineering leads the institution since 2017. She has 27 Years of Teaching experience and 12 Years of Research experience in various Engineering Colleges. Her areas of expertise are Power Electronics, Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicles. She is a Recognised supervisor at Anna University, Chennai in Electrical Engineering and Guiding 6 Research scholars. 5 Research Scholars were awarded Ph.D degree. She is a Doctoral Committee Member for Ph.D Scholars in various Engineering Colleges and Acted as Board of Studies Member (2012) in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Anna University, Chennai To her credit, she has published more than 25 publications in many International Journals and more than 30 publications in International and National conferences.
She received a Research project funded by DRDO-ARMREB (2015) for an amount of 16.46 Lakhs. She received a subsidy amount of Rs.18.84 Lakhs funded by MNRE(Ministry of New and Renewable Energy) through TEDA (Tamilnadu Energy Development Agency) for 25KW off-grid solar photo voltaic power generation system(2012) and she received a subsidy amount of Rs.14.25 Lakhs funded by MNRE(Ministry of New and Renewable Energy) through TEDA (Tamilnadu Energy Development Agency) for another 25KW off-grid solar photo voltaic power generation system(2012).
- She is having experience in permanent affiliation process (2011) of Anna University, Chennai for the EEE Department.
- She is well experienced in getting research centre (2011) recognition of EEE department.
- She Worked in Choice Based Credit System of Autonomous stream (2012) and Acted as Chairman, Board of Studies of EEE Department (2012) in Autonomous stream.
- She is having Experience in providing Industry relevant courses to the students She actively participated in NAAC Accreditation process (2012) and in National Board of Accreditation (NBA) process, for Tier II (2014) and Tier I process Acted as member in CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) and Executive member in MADITSSIA and Signed MoU with reputed Industries like NIWE etc.
- Under her guidance, EEE department got Category 3 (High Category for AICTE-CII Survey (2013-2014) in All India level.
